Transport Operations

As part of Pye Group we have our own transport business with a fleet of 12 trucks, two fertiliser spreaders, 10 drivers, a dispatcher and transport manager.  We have a mix of Volvo and Mercedes Benz trucks in our fleet due to the strengths and versatility of the two different brands for different types of work.

Trucks have always been a part of farming for the Pye family with Leighton’s father Allan purchasing his first truck, a Morris, over 60 years ago.  We are proud of our current fleet of trucks as they are our moving billboards and often spotted around the Mid and South Canterbury district carting our potatoes, carrots, grain, fertiliser and farm supplies along with silage and straw for our contracting business Central Feeds.
